Bellamara Stardust (2004)
I had taken photos of this miniature horse some months before. When planning the painting, I put a lot of thought into the choice of photos and composition to bring out the character of this little mare.
After I had finished the painting, I discovered that she had sadly died whilst foaling during the time I was actually working on the painting.
It became a very appropriate tribute to her memory.
