These beauties who look so completely relaxed and comfortable together are a 'second time round' portrait commission.
One of the very first dog portraits I did in Jan. 1998 was owned by this family. Gemma, a boxer also, and an older sister of Sharna. Sharna was put to rest in early 2008 at the grand old age of 13.
This portrait was commissioned as a tribute to Sharna and Jess because of the strong bond between them and how much a part of the family they were. Just like big kids, they were right in with whatever was going on.
Boxers are good family dogs with great personalities and fantastic with children. Jess was lost without her companion but now Meg has joined the family.
Natasha and Kelvin absolutely love their painting, and so do all their visitors.
